I was going to get up at 6:00 & go to church but I didn’t until 6:30 when the bugle blowed. I got my wish today. I really had to work. I changed 4 big letters on the plane & painted the cowling on each motor & made several numbers for the tail. I got rid of my jeep now & am driving a 6X6 truck, the grip truck.
Mon, December 13, 1943
Awoke at 8:30 and at 9:00 went to Lt. Hines hotel & we went to Chilworth Mews for breakfast. After breakfast we got our cleaning & then took a tube for Richmond. Frank and I were guests of Lt. Taylor & his wife & they sure showed us a good time. We drank in the pubs til dancing time & then Sgt took us to a club & we drank there & then after dinner went pubbing again & we played darts with 2 English lads. Won one 1, lost 2. I also won an extra drink on the side. Was in bed at 11:00 for we have to get up at 3:00. Still no mail today.
